HOURS: Winter, 7 am - 3 pm Summer, Mon - Fri, 8 am - 7 pm ADMISSION: Free; donations accepted. EXHIBITS: The Museum is housed in a replica of the Chinese temple that stood in Evanston's Chinatown from 1874 until 1922. The exhibits interpret the history of the Chinese in southwestern Wyoming from the 1870s through the 1970s. Included in the exhibits are artifacts from archaeological excavations in Chinatown, historical photographs, ceramic and metal objects, decorative items, and medicinal materials. SPECIAL EXHIBITS/PROGRAMS/EVENTS: Chinese New Year is celebrated with a parade and fireworks each year in January or February. Western Wyoming Community College conducts an archaeological field school in Chinatown for a few weeks each summer and welcomes volunteers to participate.
