State Historical Society Lola Homsher Grant Program 2006
Grant Recipients
The
Wyoming State Historical Society recently announced recipients of
the 2006 Lola Homsher research grants. The committee selected six
applicants who will receive a total of $5,300 for their research
projects.
·
The Dubois Museum has been awarded $1100 to
research the early communities of the Upper Wind River Valley.
Norma Williamson is leading this project.
·
Tamsen Hert of Laramie has been awarded $950 to
study the hotels and camps in Yellowstone.
·
Judy Slack of Big Horn has been awarded $900 to
study the histories of the early families in the Big Horn area.
·
Carl Hallberg of Cheyenne, has received $800 to
research the history of the Socialist Party in Wyoming.
·
John Mahoney of Cheyenne
has been awarded $800 to
study certain aspects of landscape architecture in Wyoming
including the design work done by noted architect S.R. DeBoer.
·
Hudson Kensel of Edmonds, Washington, has been
granted $750 to research the history of the Valley Ranch near
Cody. Kensel is specifically focused on the period of the ranch
when it was owned by Irving H. Larry Larom.
The Lola Homsher Grant is made possible from the
endowment that prominent Wyoming historian Lola Homsher created
for the purpose of promoting the research of Wyoming history.
The application process for the 2007 grant will begin in
