1997 Wyoming Historical Calendar This calendar was published by the Wyoming State Historical Society and the American Heritage Center, University of Wyoming. Commentary by Phil Roberts and Edited by Rick Ewig. The 1997 Wyoming Historical Calendar contains photographs from the Samuel Knight Collection housed in the American Heritage Center at the University of Wyoming. Dating between 1895 and 1916, many of the photographs were taken by Knight's father, Wilbur C. Knight. The historic photographs show Wyoming's people, ranches, geologic wonders, and the burgeoning mineral industry. The narrative at the beginning details the life and history of Wilbur C. Knight and Samuel Knight. They were influential men in Wyoming and at the University of Wyoming. Their service to the University of Wyoming cannot be overstated. Although Wilbur Knight died at an early age, Samuel (known as "Doc") was a part of the University of Wyoming for 82 years.
