Wyoming State Historical Society 50th Annual Meeting
Laramie County Chapter
Little America, Cheyenne, Wyoming
September 5, 6, & 7, 2003
The Laramie County Chapter has issued an invitation to all Wyoming State
Historical Society members to participate in this year's annual meeting
of the state society.
Registrants will receive name badges that will provide free admission to
Cheyenne museums for September 5th, 6th and 7th during their regular
hours of operation (see the flyer in your registration packet for more
information). Wyoming State Historical Society award winners will
receive complimetary name badges.
All events are for registrants and ticket holders. Additional tickets
for some events are available for guests. ALL MEALS AND RECEPTION FOOD
ITEMS ARE INCLUDED IN FULL REGISTRATIONS. The schedule is subject to
change without notice - based upon final arrangements with the hotel and
various other parties involved.

1949 Blizzard by Jim Ehernberger, noted railroad historian will provide
a combined slide show and brief narratives of the "Blizzard of the
Century" that struck Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota and Colorado areas

Bill Dubois, former Society President, retired Cheyenne educator and
from a well-known pioneer family, will present a talk titled "Looking
Back" covering early days of the Wyoming State Historical Society, as
well as many other Wyoming Historical events

PLEASE NOTE: For security reasons, the government will not allow anyone
on the base unless they have your social security number in advance.
This must be furnished with your registration, and only one bus (limited
to 44 ticket holders) will be filled on a first-come first-served basis,
by the postmarked date of your registration form.

Presentation:
Roger Joyce of the Wyoming State Archives will present a workshop "Care
and Preservation of Our Paper Heirlooms" regarding the protection and
preservation of old letters, photos, brochures, etc. Bring a "treasure"
for "show and tell" and receive tips in caring for your heirlooms. Roger
is requesting you bring photo albums, scrap books, or any paper
documents as part of this workshop.

THE GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY OF THE WYOMING STATE HISTORICAL SOCIETY -
President Dick Wilder of Wyoming State Historical Society will preside.
Recognition of all past State Presidents and other honored guests. A
musical interlude will be presented by Dennis Coelho and Bob Mathews
titled "What The Cowboys Sang About."

A slide presentation "Restoring the Former Union Pacific Depot" by Bob
Rowland showing the "Then and Now" story of the restoration of the
former U.P. depot in Cheyenne and its future use as offices, restaurant
and transportation museum.
