Western Trails Project Trail Maps by Loren C. Bishop Fort Laramie & Fort Fetterman This map created by L.C. Bishop is marked "© - Wyoming State Archives & Historical Department 1959". The scale is 1 inch = 4 miles. The original dimensions are 17½ inches wide by 23½ inches high. This L.C. Bishop map has two maps--Fort Laramie and Fort Fetterman. Both maps show portions of the Oregon National Historic Trail; California National Historic Trail; Bozeman Trail; and the North Platte River (Wyo.). The Fort Laramie map includes: Laramie River (Wyo.); Guernsey Reservoir (Wyo.); Horseshoe Station (Wyo.); Cottonwood Pony Express Station (Wyo.); Sand Point Pony Express Station (Wyo.); the Site of the Grattan Massacre; Rawhide Buttes (Wyo.); Ft. Halleck - Ft. Laramie Road; Cheynne - Ft. Fetterman Cut Off; Ft. Laramie - Cottonwood - Saw Mill Road; Cheyenne Black Hills Stage Road; Cheyenne - Ft. Fetterman Freight and Stage Road; Ft. Laramie - Red Clould Road; The towns of Guernsey, Glendo and Torrington; Platte County (Wyo.) and Goshen County (Wyo.). The Fort Fetterman map includes: Fort Fetterman (Wyo.); Bridgers Ferry (Wyo); Point of Rocks Stagecoach Station (Wyo.); La Bonte Station (Wyo.); Muddy Pony Express Station; Moss Agate Station; the location of the Upper Platte Indian Agency and Lutheran Mission 1855; Rock Creek - Ft. Fetterman Road; Medicine Bow - Ft. Fetterman Road; Wood Road; Glenrock, Wyoming; Douglas, Wyoming; and Converse County.
